My Love From the Star (Viki)

I found this K-drama through a male married friend. Why this thorough detail? Because K-dramas aren’t just for females. Adam said it had one of the best kissing scenes ever—and he was right.

My Love From the Star is out of this world—literally and figuratively. It brings two of my favorite actors together, Kim Soo-Hyun and Jun Ji-Hyun. Not only is their chemistry magical I feel like they’re two of the best when it comes to expressing emotions. Happy or sad, you can’t help but be right there in the moment with them. If you don’t sob along with Kim Soo-Hyun check your pulse because he is a master at tugging heartstrings.

Storylines set outside the parameter of what we know on earth are fascinating. My Love From the Star also keeps us grounded by giving us a behind-the-scenes glimpse into K-dramas. Makes you wonder how much is artistic license and what is common knowledge to insiders.

This is another one that had a very satisfying finale, which is good since it has 21 episodes!

Would I watch it again? Absolutely. Kim Soo-Hyun and Jun Ji-Hyun are two reasons why.

  • Jun Ji-Hyun, Na Young-Hee, and Hong Jin-Kyung star together in another one of my favorite K-dramas, do you know which one?

  • Screenwriter Park Ji-Eun also wrote the screenplays for Crash Landing On You and Legend of the Blue Sea. Clearly, she knows what I like!
